A quick look at the most notable players on the injury report heading into Week 9.

Patrick MahomesThe injury that everyone has been holding their breath over in relation to fantasy championships. Mahomes returned to practice this week and looked to be a possible-go, but was ultimately sat out by Andy Reid. With all indications from both the coaches and Mahomes out practicing, there is a high like chance Mahomes makes his return from the dislocated kneecap suffered against the Broncos in Week 9 for the matchup against the Vikings.

Injury Forecast: 80% chance of playing, Probable ↑

Alvin KamaraAfter being out during Week 7, Kamara did not play for the Saints again in Week 8. With a Week 9 bye for the Saints, look for Kamara to get some much-needed rest for his ankle/knee and be able to return in Week 10.

Injury Forecast: 80% chance of playing, Probable

Matt RyanRyan was downgraded to out late last week and did not play in a Week 8 matchup against the Seahawks after injuring his ankle against the Rams. With the addition of Danny Etling to the roster after designating Ryan as out, things may go from bad to worse for fantasy owners of Ryan. The addition of another QB could mean Ryan is expected to miss extra time or maybe heading for IR.

Injury Forecast: 25% chance of playing, Doubtful

Davante AdamsAdams was listed as doubtful for the Week 8 matchup against the Chiefs and did not play. After missing the last 4 weeks with turf toe, Adams looks to be trending towards returning sooner rather than later. Fantasy owners (like myself) anxiously await his return. Look for Adams to finally make his comeback in the next 1-2 weeks.

Injury Forecast: 50% chance of playing Questionable

David Johnson: After being active for the Cardinals in Week 7, the Cardinals turned to Chase Edmonds to carry the load for the team (much to the dismay of Johnson owners). Johnson was listed as questionable for the Week 8 matchup against the Saints and did not play. With the addition of Kenyan Drake via trade, the outlook for DJ is looking to be trending towards the worst. Look for the Cardinals to keep Johnson out for the time being.

Injury Forecast: 10% chance of playing, Questionable

A.J. Green: After the excitement of a possible trade for Green from the Bengals, the team decided to stay put. With the benching of Andy Dalton, Green owners may be looking to move, trade or possibly cut him from their roster. For those people stashing Green deep on benches or on dynasty rosters, the outlook is still looking bleak and they may be waiting a little bit longer. Green has started back practicing in a limited role and is not expected to play this week. Green may be back in time for owners for fantasy teams needing an extra push before and in the playoffs.

Injury Forecast: 0% chance of playing, Doubtful ↓↓↓

Adam Thielen: After a hamstring injury on a diving TD catch against the Lions in Week 7, Thielen was held out of the Thursday night game against the Redskins as a precaution for on such a short week. Thielen should be expected back in Week 9 for a matchup against the Chiefs in Arrowhead.

Injury Forecast: 95% chance of playing, Probable
