Dynasty Adds To Target On Waivers, Going Into Week 10
The NFL trade deadline came and went with not much happening in the way of trades. Also, week 10 has six teams on bye, the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Redskins. This week will challenge every fantasy football owners depth and the ability to manage their rosters. Below I’ll go over each offensive position; quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight ends in dynasty to help guide you with who should be added going into week 10. I’m going to use My Fantasy League for this article, but these suggestions should apply to other formats too. Let’s dive into the depleted waiver wire and who are the top dynasty adds.
Quarterback – Ryan Finley
Rookie Ryan Finley will be getting his first start, in week 10, taking over for Andy Dalton, who was benched during the Bengals week 9 bye. Finley will be leading the winless Bengals against the Baltimore Ravens, who just beat the New England Patriots, in week 9. The Cincinnati Bengals need to see what they have in Ryan and whether or not they need to draft a quarterback in the upcoming draft. Dynasty owners should also add him to their taxi squad or active roster to see how he does. Who know’s you might get lucky and if not you drop him. What also helps Finley is the expected return of wide receiver A.J. Green, from an ankle injury.
Here’s what was being said at the time the Bengals drafted Ryan Finley.
Running back – Jay Ajayi
I’m hopeful that an NFL team will sign him. With the Detroit Lions losing running back Tra Carson, for the season, to a hamstring injury, the Lions have an open roster spot. Additionally, Detroit worked out Ajayi at the beginning of November so i’m hoping this turns into him signing. If he does, he would move to the top of the running back depth chart. Keep an eye on this situation and if Ajayi is still available, he needs to be added.
Running back – Ty Montgomery
Starting running back Le’veon Bell underwent an MRI on his knee, Monday. This took the Jets by surprise, and is a situation to also keep an eye on. Ty Montgomery needs to be added in all leagues with the Jets facing the New York Giants and Washington Redskins, the next two weeks. Montgomery, generated some buzz during the preseason and showed well. He would be a plug and play running back 1/2, if Bell misses time.
Running back – Kalen Ballage
The Miami Dolphins starting running back Mark Walton has been suspended four games, by the NFL, for violating the conduct and substance abuse policy. Walton’s suspension is a result of his three off-season arrests. The Dolphins running game hasn’t been all that great, but Ballage will get plenty of opportunities. Depending on your league size Kalen might be owned, but double check to make sure. The next four games the Dolphins will face the Colts, Bills, Browns, and Eagles. Ballage wont be more than a RB2.
Wide Receiver – Jakeem Grant
Please take a look at, fellow Dynasty Football Digest writer, Jim Nastic’s article on Jakeem Grant here. I think Grant’s the next man up with the loss of rookie wide receiver Preston Williams, for the season, to a knee injury.
Tight End – N/A
No one new to add here but i’d double check to make sure Jacob Hollister hasn’t been added. Please see what I wrote on him, last week, here.
Depending on the size of your dynasty leagues and roster sizes, these players may be deeper adds. Nonetheless, it is always important to stay one step ahead of your fellow owners on the wavier wire. The savvy dynasty owner is looking for opportunities along with current usage. Always remember to check your waiver wire(s) every week, even if you think there isn’t anything worth adding because you never know. Good luck in week 10!
