We are the middle of an influx of a youth movement at WR, but these top Devy quarterbacks are about to take the NFL by storm.
Tom Brady. Drew Brees. Philip Rivers. Aaron Rodgers. These legends will be heading to Canton soon, which brings us to a new QB era. The next three NFL drafts will feature a bevy of Devy quarterback talent to replace the old guard. Three elite golden prospects stand above the rest- Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields and Sam Howell.
In Superflex leagues, any of these top QB prospects could be your cornerstone QB1 for the next decade and have the potential to quickly crack the top 12 QB rankings. Before diving in, let’s take a quick look at my top 15 Devy QB list.

#1: Trevor Lawrence– Clemson- Junior
The Clemson legend is the best pro QB prospect since Andrew Luck and has almost cemented his status as the #1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. I’m not buying the Fields or Lance hype, the Clemson legend is going #1. When Lawrence led Clemson to a national title as a true freshman, the feat was nothing short of remarkable.
The 6-foot-6 stud known as “Sunshine” is a complete pro-style pocket passer with solid rushing upside. The MVP of 2019 National Championship game is my clear #1 pick in Superflex Devy league start-ups. No second guess needed.
#2: Justin Fields– Junior- Ohio State
Wherever Lawrence is mentioned in fantasy rankings, the Ohio State star is not far behind him. These two QBs were the top two prospects coming out of high school with a rare 101 overall rating from 247 Sports. Fields had a huge year for Buckeyes after transferring from Georgia after they picked Jake Fromm over him, which was a bad choice.
The incredibly efficient passer completed 67.2 % of his passes while maintaining an eye popping 41:3 TD-to-Int ratio. When you add in 484 yards on the ground with 10 rushing TDs, that’s the makings of a fantasy stud. This is my #2 pick in Superflex Devy league start-ups. I definitely understand waiting on QBs, but these guys are simply different.
#3: Sam Howell – Sophomore- UNC
This man is my devy crush. According to 247 sports rankings, the North Carolina native was the #4 ranked QB in the 2019 class, but clearly had the best freshman season of the class. Howell broke the FBS true freshman record with 38 passing TDs while throwing only 7 picks. The 6-foot-1 stud is being projected to be the #1 pick in 2022 NFL Draft.
The prolific passer has high expectations for 2020 after leading the Tar Heels to a winning record and a dominant Military Bowl victory over Temple. After a pair of elite RBs and WRs off the board, Howell would be a potential steal at the #7 pick in Superflex Devy start-up drafts.
