REAGOR-ous Grinding: A Look At A 2020 NFL Draft Prospect

Hey everyone I’m back after a little hiatus from The Stache. I’ve been rigorously grinding film and analyzing stats because I’m here to bring some 2020 prospects. First up dynamic TCU Wideout  Jalen Reagor.

Jalen Reagor:

With a breakout age of 18, Jalen has been someone I’ve been excited about for sometime, because of his early college success Reagor is a player who shouldn’t fall out of the first round of rookie drafts. But most likely will fall into the top half of second rounds and this type of value can’t  be ignored. I have been looking at prospects entering the 2020 season and Jalen’s numbers can’t be dismissed.

2017:

As an 18 year old  freshman Jalen posted 33 receptions for 576 yards, 17.6 yards per catch and a crazy TD’s. 2017 showed a glimpse of what Jalen was capable and 2018 didn’t disappoint.

2018:

In 2018 Reagor had 72 receptions for 1061 yards at 19 years old. Also posting 9 TDs with 14.7 yards per catch. But the most impressive number I came across was his massive 38.6% market share.

2019:

2019 was supposed to be a continuation of dominance but ineptitude on the sidelines lead to what many saw as a mediocre season. But Jalen still posted 43 receptions for 611 yards and a similar 14.2 yards per catch and 5 TD’s. With a still respectable 25% market share.

Heading into 2020:

While many may have dismissed Jalen’s 2018 season as fluky but his yards per catch and market share suggest it was the inability to get the most explosive player the ball, I mean he had multiple games of 1 and 2 receptions.

Many people have Jerry Jeudy or CeeDee Lamb as the WR 1 heading into 2020 rookie drafts. I’m no different (I have Lamb) but I do have Jalen Reagor ranked ahead of Jeudy. I’m fully aware of the slack I’ll catch for it. But if Reagor lands in Philadelphia I’d bet more people will shoot him up the boards. The simple fact thou is Jalen is an explosive playmaker who has a quick step. Even on a team like Kansas City or New Orleans where he’d be the #2 option the Saints have been desperately searching  for, he’d still should be a top 12 pick.

Take advantage of this loaded class and acquire as many second round picks as possible in trades. I wouldn’t be surprised if the difference between Jeudy and Reagor is minimal so personally I’d rather take swings at RB’s in the first rd and grab Jalen in the top of seconds.
